In addition to choral teaching and conducting, I also have a passion for vocal health in the classroom, both for my singers as well as for myself as a teacher. After three years of teaching middle school, I found myself with a vocal cyst, unable to sing let alone model for my students.  This led to a journey through surgery and voice/singing therapy that changed my entire outlook on vocal health as a classroom educator.
